Cross-country skiing and trails in Rauris

The Rauris valley boasts unspoilt, tranquil natural wonders. This is where cross-country skiers get their money's worth - particularly for those who prefer quiet trails and discovering paths off the regular tracks.

This long stretch of valley in the Hohe Tauern National Park offers 30 well-groomed cross country trails. They run at altitudes of around 950 to 1200 meters and touch many scenic highlights of this romantic valley.

The detour to the back of the Huettwinkl valley is very popular. Follow the paths through the sunny slopes and beautiful alpine pastures. All routes are distinguished by their low occurance of fog. Cross-country ski equipment can be rented from the local sports shops and ski schools.

In winter, a free ski bus transports cross-country skiers, snowshoers, hikers and tobogganers to and from various points.
